Memecylon, Syzygium, Capparis, and Hugonia

The laterite micro-ecosystem, formed by plant species such as Memecylon, Syzygium, Capparis, and Hugonia, creates a humus-rich layer from decomposed fallen leaves. This layer provides a favourable microhabitat for various terrestrial orchids. Among the important terrestrial medicinal orchids in this habitat is Jivaka and Padmacharini two well-known plants in Ayurveda.
