External uses Karpoor is widely used in external applications It is used in ointments for wounds  It is mixed with oil and is applied in rheumatoid arthritis. Its powder is applied on eczema. A mixture of camphor and peppermint is used as an analgesic. In optha]mic disorders, it is applied on t he eyes and in dental diseases, it is applied on the teeth as a toothpowder. In chronic rhinitis, it is used as a nasya A mixture of karpoor and sandalwood is-used for application in headache caused by fever,


Internal uses : It is used as an anticonvulsant in weakness of the brain and disorders of vata. It is useful in oral diseases, anorexia, flatulence, diarrhoea and cholera It acts as a cardio tonic and is especially useful as a cardio-protective in sannipatik jvara. It is useful as an expectorant in cough and asthma. It is also used in dermatosis. It is diuretic, antimicrobial and since it is excreted through the urine, it is used in pyuria and other disorders of the urinary tract, In a small dose it is aphrodisiac while in higher doses, it reduces sexual desire. Its internal and external use reduces breast milk secretion. Karpoor is useful in skin diseases, burning sensation and obesity. Higher
doses may cause toxicity. - -

Dose : 125 to 375 mg.
