In Ayurveda, Vega means a natural urge or reflex generated by the body to expel or express certain physiological or emotional needs. These are vital for maintaining health, and interfering with them can lead to disease (Vyādhi).

🔹 1. Adharanīya Vega (Un-suppressible urges)
These are natural urges that must not be suppressed. Suppression of these urges leads to vitiation of Vāta Dosha primarily, and results in serious diseases.
📜 Charaka Sutrasthana 7.3–4:
“Na vegaṁ dhārayet kopaṁ śokaṁ bhayam, vegān purīṣamutraśukraśvāsakāsān nidrām…”
Meaning: One should not suppress natural urges like anger, sorrow, fear, feces, urine, semen, breathing, sneezing, cough, sleep, etc.
