Anal Cancer – Ayurvedic Management & Treatment Protocol
1. Modern Overview
Anal cancer is a malignant growth arising from the anus, often linked with chronic irritation, HPV infection, or uncontrolled cell division.
-
Symptoms: Bleeding per rectum, pain, itching, mass near anus, altered bowel habits, weight loss.
-
Management (Modern): Surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy depending on staging.
2. Ayurvedic Understanding
In Ayurveda, anal cancer can be correlated with Guda Arbuda (malignant growth in anus) or Dushta Arsha (malignant hemorrhoids-like condition).
🔹 Doṣa Involvement
-
Vāta-Kapha: primary in Arbuda (tumor growth, obstruction).
-
Pitta: secondary in ulceration, burning, bleeding.
🔹 Dūṣyas: Rasa, Rakta, Māmsa, Meda Dhātus.
🔹 Srotas: Annavaha, Purīṣavaha, Raktavaha.
🔹 Samprapti: Vāta-Kapha prakopa → Sthānavaigunya in guda pradeśa → Arbuda formation with Rakta dushti & Pitta involvement.
