SRINGAVACHARANA IN AYURVEDA USING VACUUM PUMP




Sringavacharana in ayurveda using vaccum pump this is one of the modified classical procedure in ayurveda for the treatment of L.B.A and related complaints will give quick effective result with in minutes after the procedure.


PROCEDURE


First we have to do bahya snehana (external application) for the patient by doing an abhyanga (massage ) only on the area were we have to do sringavacharana then swedana (fomentation) in done on that particular area .In clinical practice murivenna is used for snehana and dasamoola kwatha for swedana.Before the procedure mark the area were the sringavacharana have to be done. The marking is done according to the diameter of the lower open part of sringa by strongly pressing its lower end on the intended area were sringavacharna have to be done. Then wipe the area well with a sterile cotton gauze after that use a Sterile Surgical Scalpel Blade No.20 for doing “prachanna” inside the area were marking is done previously.After that sringa which is attached to the suction apparatus and is fixed to the marked area then suction is done for creating vacuum,usually the suction pressure is created between 25 to 30 mm of Hg, this suction force helps in bloodletting and it fixes the sringa in the intended area. The suction is done for 10 to 15 minutes. 


CLASSICAL REFERENCE FOR SRINGAVACHARANA


This is a modified classical way of bloodletting explained in sushruta samhita and ashtanga samgraha. Its mainly done to reduce pain mainly in kadigraha,gridrasi etc.. And other related symptoms of L.B.A due to rheumatic complaints. In my clinical experience it will give quick relief from pain and this method is mainly suited for symptomatic quick relief of pain.After the procedure dress the area were prachanna is done with jatyadi gritham.Diabetic patients and rakthamokshana anarhas are contraindicated for sringavacharana.....
