HERBAL REMEDIES PREPARED FROM KOSHATAKI (Luffa acutangulata)
Family : Cucurbitaceae.
Uses : It is used for shodhan in kapha-pitta disorders )emesis and purgation). It is used in ascites. tumour, blood disorders, inflammation. splenomegaly, cough, asthma and dermatoses where shodhan is required.
Dose : For ernesis - 1.25 to 1.5gm. for other uses -0.25 to 0.5 gm. juice -8 to 15 ml. Charakacharya had mentioned 60 formulations of it for shodhan.
