Saalasaaraadi gana


Saalasaara, Ajakarna (Sarja), Khadira Kadara (Swetasaara), Kaalaskandha, Kramuka (Pooga), Bhoorja, Meshasringa (Karkatasringi), Tinisa (Syandana), Chandana, Kuchandana, Simsapaa, Sireesha, Asana (Beejaka). Dhava (Sakata), Arjuna (Kakubha), Taala, Saaka, Naktamaala, Pooteeka, Aswakarna, Agaru and Kaaleeyakam (Malendree chandanam).


Indication:-


This gana is very helpful in Kushta. It also acts as a curative in Prameha, Paandu (anaemia) and lessens Kapha and Medas.


This gana’s can be converted mainly in to two forms kwadhas and ghruthams

Kwadhas


Kwadhas are the important basic ingredient which is used as such or used in the preparation of arshtams, thailams kuzhambus, lehas and gulikas in Ayurvedic system of treatment.The selected brand of herbs are cleaned, dried up to the desired level, crushed / coarsely powdered for the preparation  of  Kwadhas. To suit the convenience of general public, the hygienically prepared medicines are bottled so as to meet the usual dosage of 15 ml, at a time in concentrated forms. The dosage of 15 ml, unless otherwise prescribed, may be mixed with 50 ml  of boiled and cooled water and taken as one dose. For children, the dose has to be decided according to their age as advised by the physicians.

Ghruthams


Ghruthams (Medicated Ghee) are combination of fats and aqueous extract of medicinal plants. The medicinal active principles are normally soluble in fat and hence transferred into ghees. The medicinal properties contained in kwadhas and kalkas and other types of pure medicinal juices are infused into pure ghee at a stipulated temperature.
