HERBAL REMEDIES PREPARED FROM KHATMI (Althaea officinalis)


Uses : External application of the seeds and leaves is done in inflamed wounds, breast abscess, pleuritis and pneumonitis. In inflammation of the throat, decoction of the roots is used for gargling. Indiarrhoea caused by pitta, decoction of the roots is given by rectal administration in the form of a special enema called pichcha basti. Its decoction is also useful in colitis, dysentery, rhinitis and cough
caused by vatapitta.
