Medhya rasayana enriching intellectual property: 

                          Charkasamhita illustrates the intake of Shankhpushpi (शङ्खपुष्पी )in the form of kalka to achieve medhya function. 

Different sources of plants are presently considered Shankhpushpi, but analysis of synonyms and the teachings of Great Gurus like Nirmalananda swamiji reveal a plant that matches all synonyms in Ayurvedic Nighandus. 

This plant grows in forest areas (Vanavilasini and Kiridi) 

 A small herb denoted by the synonym Bhoomilata,

Flowers described as 

Sitapushpi or Ksheerpushpi (white-colored flowers, like milk),

Shape as that of Shankhava or Shankhahva (conch-shaped), 

Kambumalini or Shankhamalini (wearing a garland of conches), 

Supushpi (beautiful flowers), 

 Vanavilasini (beauty of the forest), Mangalyakusuma (auspicious flower). 

All these synonyms suit 

Canscora perfoliata, 

Gentianaceae, 

Known as കഞ്ചൻ-കോര, കഞ്ചാകൊര on Hortus malabaricus.

We are lucky to observe this plant on Kodikuthimala (12-11-25) Perinthalmanna and 

Vengasheri (12 -11-25) Thrissur both on mid hill ecosystem.
