Kadukkavenna

Kadukkavenna

The term Kadukkavenna in Ayurveda refers to Haritakee Navaneetham, a unique preparation known for its Kapha-Pitta Samana properties.

Method of Preparation:

1. Take a ripened Haritakee and split it into two halves.
2. Fill one half with Tila and the other half with powdered Chandana.
3. Rejoin the halves and wrap them with five fresh leaves of Amruta.
4. Tie it securely using a string made of three Durva plants.
5. Weigh the prepared unit and take 32 times its weight in Ksheera.
6. Boil it in the milk until it gets concentrated.
7. Grind the residue in the same milk with fresh Navaneetha to form a paste.

Therapeutic Uses:

• Traditionally used for long-standing Vidradhi (abscess).
• Can be applied as Murdhalepa in Kapha-Pitta predominant Unmada conditions.
